Many people assume that they are in God’s family, by virtue of the fact that they are baptized members of a Church. In spite of this fact, many people still wonder about their status in God’s family.
“How can we be sure?”, they ask. Romans 8:16 gives us the answer to this question. If you are indeed a member of God’s family, then the Holy Spirit living within your heart, will tell your spirit that you are. He will not keep you in the dark on this issue. He will also make it clear to you that, as God’s child, you are due one day for the inheritance that the heavenly Father gives to all his children. What is that inheritance? It is none other than a glorified, resurrected body required for all residents of God’s heavenly kingdom. See: 1st Peter 1:3-5. As a member of God’s family, this is what you can one day expect to receive. It is a family benefit that the heavenly Father gives to all members of his family. Question: Has the Holy Spirit spoken with your Spirit about your status in God’s family? If not, it might be wise to take us the issue with Him. We should know, and some people are just not sure.
